Crispy Apple Chips

INGREDIENTS: 

= 2 apples – thinly sliced

= 2 tablespoons cinnamon

= ½ teaspoon nutmeg

= ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper – if you want your apple chips to be spicy OR you can use sugar instead.

COOKING:

1. Slice apples very thin using a mandolin or a sharp knife. The thinner the apples slices the crunchier they will become.

2. Mix the spices in a small bowl.

3. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and spread the apples on them in one layer.

4. Using a small fine sieve sprinkle the spice mix over the apple slices. Don’t over do it.

5. Preheat your oven to 200̊ F. Place two baking sheets with apples into the oven: one on the top, the other – on the third rack from the bottom. Bake for 2.5 hours flipping and dusting with spices the apple slices once in between.

6. After 2.5 hours turn the oven off and keep the apples in the oven for another hour. Let the apples cool completely.

7. Store the baked apple chips in the glass airtight containers.
